Multilingual Aspects of Children's Speech Sounds (2nd edition) has been submitted

Today we submitted Multilingual Aspects of Children's Speech Sounds (2nd edition) to Multilingual Matters (it was due 31st December - so we are early!).

Helen and I met with Brian Goldstein a few weeks ago when we were in the Washington DC at the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) convention.

Multilingual Aspects of Children's Speech Sounds (2nd edition) - almost ready to submit

Our latest edited book, "Multilingual Aspects of Children's Speech Sounds (2nd edition)" is almost ready to submit to Multilingual Matters. The book is edited by Helen Blake, Kate Margetson, Brian Goldstein and myself. It contains 32 chapters written by authors from across the world. We met with Brian and some of the authors in Washington DC at the ASHA convention last week - then with Kate in Australia today. We have benefited from the excellent copy editing from Mark Filmer at CSU. Nearly finished.

Working on the second edition of Children's Speech

This evening Prof Elise Baker and I continued our work on the second edition of our book Children's Speech. This edition will be published by Oxford University Press. So much has happened since the first edition was published in 2017 - there is a lot to update.

Page proofing is finished for Interventions for Speech Sound Disorders in Children - Second Edition

I have finally finished copyediting and pageproofing every one of the 652 pages in Interventions for Speech Sound Disorders in Children - Second Edition edited by A. Lynn Williams, Sharynne McLeod and Rebecca J. McCauley. The first edition, published in 2010 was a rich resource of interventions with chapters written by the creators of the intervention approaches (in almost every instance).  The second edition has 24 chapters and videos (some new and the rest are extensively updated). We are very proud of it. 

Dr. Caroline Bowen was very generous in her Foreword too: 

If the award existed, my vote for International SLP/SLT Book of the Decade, 2020–2029, would go, unreservedly, to ISSDC 2e. And if you’re there at the glittering awards ceremony and you want to spot me in the crowd, I’m the rowdy woman cheering the loudest. (p. xxix)

 

Working on the second edition of Interventions for Speech Sound Disorders in Children

Over the past two years we (Lynn Williams, Rebecca McCauley and I) have been working on the second edition of Interventions for Speech Sound Disorders in Children with Paul H. Brookes Publishing. We are getting closer to submitting the manuscript and enjoyed chatting with Liz Gildea and Astrid Zuckerman about the fact that they plan to have it published for the 2020 ASHA convention in San Diego.

While at the ASHA convention we finalised plans to work on the second edition of Interventions for Children with Speech Sound Disorders with Astrid Zuckermann, Melissa Behms and Stephanie Henderson from Paul H. Brookes Publishing. I look forward to working with my co-editors Dr Lynn Williams and Dr Rebecca McCauley, and all of our outstanding authors throughout the world.
