Finishing a book: Early Childhood Voices: Children, Families and Professionals

Today I finished everything that needed to be done for the permissions and revised chapters  for our book that will be published by Springer titled "Early Childhood Voices: Children, Families and Professionals"

I haveco-edited the book with Linda Mahony, Andi Salamon and Jenny Dwyer and have co-authored chapters 1, 9, 10, 12, 16, and 18.

Once Upon A Time grant and meeting

Next week I head to Fort Worth, TX, USA for a meeting with the Once Upon A Time Foundation to discuss our grant to consider children's perspectives of speech intervention. Today I had a meeting with Dr Anna Cronin and A/Prof Jane McCormack from ACU who are leading the grant. It's an exciting project.

Inspiration for The Treehouse from CSU's FOAE Technical Officer

Today Karl Shead, Technical Officer for the Faculty of Arts and Education showed me around Building 1454 - the creative hub for the Faculty and School of Communication and Creative Industries. We had a wonderful brainstorm about how the facilities and resources could be used to create The Treehouse as a physical and virtual space for children's communication and research. Thanks Karl - I look forward to working with you and your team.

Early Childhood Interdisciplinary Research (ECIR) Team Meeting

Today our Early Childhood Interdisciplinary Research (ECIR) Team Meeting met face-to-face by the first time. We met in Bathurst, Albury and online. Over half of our team (16 people) were available for this inspiring day. We spent time working out WHY we are doing our research. We also established a Twitter community.
