Icelandic Association of Speech and Language Therapists (Félag talmeinafræðinga á Íslandi).

The Icelandic Association of Speech and Language Therapists (Félag talmeinafræðinga á Íslandi) has 90 members and approximately 50 active members. Speech and language therapists are called "talmeinafræðinga" in Iceland; literally "speech pathology expert". Many of its members have trained in the US, UK, Germany, Sweden, etc since speech therapy has only been a university course in Iceland for the past 4 years.
I presented two workshops to the Icelandic Association of Speech and Language Therapists while visiting Reykjavik:
  • Námskeið I. Börn með málhljóðaröskun: Greining og talþjálfun - 19 June 2014 (Workshop I. Children with speech sound disorders: Assessment and intervention )
  • Námskeið II. Málhljóðaröskun tvítyngdra barna - 20 June 2014 (Workshop II: Speech sound disorders in multilingual children)
The first workshop was attended by 24 people and the second was attended by 23, with many people coming on both days. Consequently, I have been honoured to speak with almost half of Iceland's active members of the Icelandic Association of Speech and Language Therapists! It is midsummer in Iceland, so I was grateful that many came to the workshops during their summer holidays.
